Jeans for Genes Day is a fundraising and awareness campaign held in the UK that encourages schools, workplaces, and communities to wear jeans (or denim) for a day in return for a small donation.
The aim is to raise funds and awareness for children and families living with genetic disorders.
Genetic disorders collectively affect many people: in the UK it’s estimated that 1 in 25 children is born with a genetic condition.
Many of these conditions are rare, under‐funded, and carry significant lifelong impacts. Jeans for Genes Day helps raise funds that go into research, support services, and grants for projects benefiting those affected.
The campaign also helps raise awareness — making genetic conditions more visible, reducing stigma, educating communities.
